T-Mobile Call Forwarding: Busy, No Answer, Unreachable and Off

The T-Mobile short codes to send the calls you miss to another number, such as your AI receptionist, choose how long your phone rings first, and reset forwarding to voicemail.

Updated

On T-Mobile, dial **67*1 and the 10-digit number, then #, to forward calls when you are busy; **61*1number# to forward when you do not answer; **62*1number# when your phone is off or out of signal; and **21*1number# to forward all calls. Add **seconds before the # to choose the ring delay, for example **61*15551234567**20# forwards after 20 seconds (5 to 30, in steps of 5). ##67#, ##61#, ##62# and ##21# turn each one off, and ##004# puts busy, no-answer and unreachable calls back to T-Mobile voicemail. Conditional forwarding cannot be set in your phone's menus on T-Mobile: use the short codes.

What T-Mobile says about call forwarding

  • By default, busy, unanswered and unreachable calls go to T-Mobile voicemail: setting **67, **61 or **62 replaces that, and ##004# restores it.
  • Forwarding all calls with **21 takes priority over the other three; turn it off with ##21# to let your phone ring again.
  • You cannot forward to international numbers, only to 10- or 11-digit numbers.
  • Airtime applies to calls you forward, and a forwarded call can be charged as more than one call.
  • Your phone's settings menu can forward all calls; for busy, no answer and unreachable, T-Mobile says to use the short codes.

UScellular, Metro by T-Mobile, Mint Mobile and T-Mobile Puerto Rico

  • T-Mobile bought UScellular's wireless business on August 1, 2025, and uscellular.com now leads to T-Mobile: lines moved to T-Mobile use the codes above.
  • Metro by T-Mobile and Mint Mobile run on T-Mobile's network but publish their own rules: check with them before you rely on these codes.
  • T-Mobile Puerto Rico uses the same short codes.

Forward to a local number

Forward to a number in your own country. US carriers do not forward to international numbers, and in Israel Bezeq forwards only to Israeli numbers, so your UIRIX agent's number should be local. Numbers come from 27 countries. In the US, Canada, Israel and Puerto Rico a number is ready at once; in 23 more, such as the UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Brazil and Mexico, the telephony provider first reviews your details and documents, usually in 1 to 3 business days.

What happens when the call reaches your AI receptionist

  • Your agent answers in your business's name, day and night, in 17 languages: it answers from your website and documents, takes messages and leads, books appointments where you connect a calendar, and can put the caller through to a person you choose.
  • When your carrier marks the call as forwarded, the agent knows it came through your line: it never reads your business number back as the caller's own, and it asks for a callback number when it needs one.
  • Calls are recorded (on by default), transcribed and summarized in your dashboard, and you can get the summary by e-mail.
  • If the agent transfers callers to a person, use a number that does not forward back to the agent (a mobile or a direct line), so a call cannot loop between the two.

Forward your missed T-Mobile calls to an AI receptionist

  1. 1

    Get the agent's US number

Create your UIRIX agent and give it a US phone number in the dashboard.

  2. 2

    Dial the three short codes

    From your T-Mobile phone: **67*1number#, **61*1number**20# and **62*1number#, with the agent's number.

  3. 3

    Call yourself while busy

From a second phone, call your business number while your phone is on another call (or you decline the call). Your agent should answer.

  4. 4

Call yourself and do not answer

Let it ring. After the delay you set, your agent should answer. If voicemail answers instead, voicemail is still catching the call first.

T-Mobile call forwarding: common questions

Dial **61*1 and the 10-digit number, then ** and the delay in seconds, then #. For example **61*15551234567**15# forwards after 15 seconds. The delay can be 5 to 30 seconds in steps of 5.
Dial ##21# to stop forwarding all calls, and ##004# to send busy, unanswered and unreachable calls back to your T-Mobile voicemail. ##67#, ##61# or ##62# turn off one of them.
T-Mobile handles busy, no-answer and unreachable forwarding through the short codes, not the device menus. Dial the codes from your phone's keypad.
No. T-Mobile does not forward to international numbers, so use a US number for your AI receptionist.
