AI Payment Reminder Calls for Invoices, Renewals and Failed Payments

Your UIRIX AI agent calls customers about a payment that is due or did not go through, sends a link to your own payment page or your bank details by text message or WhatsApp, and records when they plan to pay or why they disagree. Polite, factual and limited to the options you set.

AI payment reminder calls are calls an AI agent makes to your customers about a payment that is due or did not go through, to help them pay. With UIRIX, the agent tells the customer the amount and the due date from your list, asks whether something got in the way, and offers only the ways to pay you set up: a link to your own payment page or your bank transfer details by text message or WhatsApp, or an e-mail. When the customer names a date, it records the promise to pay; when they disagree with the charge, it records the dispute and the reason. UIRIX does not take or process payments. Calls to collect a past-due debt can be debt collection under the law, and the UIRIX Terms allow debt collection only with our written agreement.

What the agent does on a payment reminder call

  • Asks for the account holder by name in the opening line you approve, and says who it is and why it is calling.
  • Tells the customer the amount and the due date, from the facts your list gives for that person.
  • Asks whether something got in the way, such as an expired card or an invoice that never arrived, and listens.
  • Explains the ways to pay you offer and helps the customer pay while they are on the line: it sends a link to your own payment page, or your bank transfer details with the reference to use, by text message or WhatsApp. It can also send an e-mail with the payment details, after spelling the address back.
  • Helps a customer whose card expired or was declined update it, through your payment page or customer portal.
  • Records a promise to pay: the date, and the amount and the way they plan to pay when they say.
  • Records a dispute with the reason and the amount in question, and tells the customer what happens next, as your script says.
  • Puts the customer through to your billing team, live, when they ask for a person, or books a callback for a better time.

The rules these calls follow

  • Debt collection needs our written agreement. The UIRIX Terms (Section 4.4) do not allow debt collection, or any statement that threatens legal action, a referral to collections or credit reporting, unless UIRIX agrees in writing; where we agree, you must follow the FDCPA, Regulation F and state collection laws. Write to [email protected] before you run calls about past-due debts.
  • No pressure. The Terms do not allow agents to deceive, pressure, threaten or harass anyone. You set the tone of the call (how formal, how warm and how persistent), and you must review any script or preset before you use it and remove anything that conflicts with these rules.
  • Only your options. The payment tools send only what you set up, your payment link and your bank details, and any plan or discount the agent mentions comes from your script, so leave out what you do not offer.
  • No payments on the call. UIRIX does not take or process payments: the customer pays on your own payment page or by bank transfer. Never put card numbers or passwords in a list or a script.
  • UIRIX counts a payment reminder campaign as a service campaign, not marketing, but in the US an AI-voice call to a mobile number or a residential line still needs the prior express consent of the person you call.
  • Your own do-not-call list is checked at the moment of every dial, on by default. UIRIX does not check national or state do-not-call registries for you: scrub your lists against the ones that apply, or upload your own block lists in Profile > Privacy so every call is checked against them too.
  • Calls go out only on the days and in the hours you set, in each person's local time where their time zone is known. Time zones are inferred from the phone number and can be wrong, so add a time zone to a contact when you know it.
  • The phone line can announce, before your agent speaks, that the call is with an AI assistant and is recorded, following the rules of the country you call or on every call. It is on by default for accounts opened on or after October 12, 2026, and you can also say it in your opening line.
  • People can opt out during the call by saying so or by pressing 9; their number goes on your do-not-call list at once. Switch each option on in Profile > Privacy. These tools can miss a request, so honor every opt-out you receive.
  • Record each contact's consent when you import the list: its type, date, source and where the proof is. In Profile > Privacy you can have a marketing campaign blocked, or its contacts without a recorded consent skipped.
  • You are responsible for the laws of every place you call: in the US the TCPA, the Telemarketing Sales Rule and state rules (some states end calling at 8 p.m.), in Israel Section 30A of the Communications Law, and the consent each of them requires. AI voices count as artificial voices, and a voicemail your agent leaves is a call.
  • Campaigns do not get through phone menus: a call that reaches an automated menu ends.
  • Campaigns need a paid plan and an agent with its own phone number: a free trial account cannot run them.

An example call

An example of a reminder about a declined card. You write the facts, the options and the tone.

  • Agent: "Hi, may I speak with Jordan Lee? This is Ava, an AI assistant calling for [your business] about your account."
  • Jordan: "Speaking."
  • Agent: "Thanks, Jordan. Our records show that the monthly payment due on the 5th did not go through. Is there anything I can help with?"
  • Jordan: "My card expired. I can update it on Friday."
  • Agent: "Thank you, I have noted Friday. Would you like me to text you the link to update your card?"
  • Jordan: "Yes, please."
  • Agent: "It is on its way. Thanks for your time, and have a good day."

What you get after each call

You see who will pay and when, who disagrees and why, and who needs a person:

  • Each promise to pay (the date, and the amount and the way to pay when given) and each dispute (the reason and the amount), in the campaign's call list and as columns in its Excel export.
  • The recording (unless you switch recording off), the full transcript and a summary of every call, with its outcome: reached, no answer, busy, voicemail or failed.
  • The agent's own rating of each call, from 1 to 5, and the campaign's progress and cost so far.
  • Signed webhooks to your own systems when a conversation ends, when its summary is ready and when the agent books a meeting or transfers a call. A Zapier step can pass them on to your CRM, a spreadsheet or a team chat.
  • Every contact's result through the Public API, with your own reference for that contact when you gave one.

How a payment reminder campaign works

  1. 1

Set up the agent and its number

Create your UIRIX agent from your website and give it a phone number in the dashboard. Getting a number requires a saved payment card. Numbers come from 27 countries. In the US, Canada, Israel and Puerto Rico a number is ready at once; in 23 more, such as the UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Brazil and Mexico, the telephony provider first reviews your details and documents, usually in 1 to 3 business days. In the US, you can register your business for trusted caller ID in the dashboard, free, in about 10 minutes: your calls are then signed in your business's name, which helps reduce "Spam Likely" labels. The review takes 3 to 7 business days, and the carriers decide the final label.

  2. 2

    Create a payment call profile

Choose the goals (pay now, a promise to pay, understand the problem, update the card), the ways to pay you offer (your payment link, your bank details), the tone, the opening line and the voicemail message with your callback number. UIRIX can write the call script for you from these choices; read it before you use it.

  3. 3

    Add the customers to remind

Upload a CSV file, import a HubSpot list, or add them through the Public API, with the amount, the due date and your invoice or account reference in each row. The agent uses these facts on the call.

  4. 4

    Set the calling rules

Pick the days and the calling hours in each customer's local time, the pace, and how many times to try a customer who does not answer, up to 3 attempts.

  5. 5

    Test it, then start

Place a test call to your own phone with sample facts and listen (a test call is a real, billed call), fix the script, then start the campaign.

AI payment reminder calls: common questions

Yes. A UIRIX AI agent calls your customers about a payment that is due or did not go through, sends a link to your own payment page or your bank details, and records a promise to pay or a dispute. It speaks 17 languages, and every call is recorded, transcribed and summarized.
No. UIRIX does not take or process payments. The agent sends a link to your own payment page or your bank transfer details while the customer is on the line, so they can pay right away, and records the date they promise when they cannot.
It can be: a call to collect a past-due debt can fall under the FDCPA, Regulation F or state collection laws, and this is not legal advice. The UIRIX Terms do not allow debt collection, or statements that threaten legal action, collections or credit reporting, unless we agree in writing, so write to [email protected] before you run calls about past-due debts.
It listens, records the dispute with the reason and the amount in question, and tells the customer what happens next, as your script says. You see every dispute in the call summary and in the campaign's Excel export.
It can offer the plan your script describes and record the date and the amount the customer agrees to. It does not create the plan in your billing system: your team does that from the call results.
The way you set it: you choose how formal, how warm and how persistent it is, and what it may offer. The UIRIX Terms do not allow agents to deceive, pressure, threaten or harass anyone, so review the script, and any preset you start from, before the first call.
