Call Forwarding in Israel: Mobile, Bezeq and HOT Codes

How to forward calls (הפניית שיחות, "עקוב אחרי") when you are busy, do not answer or are out of reach, how to forward all calls and how to cancel, on Israeli mobiles and on Bezeq and HOT landlines.

Updated

Israeli mobile networks use the standard forwarding codes: *67* and the number, then #, when you are busy; *61*number# when you do not answer; *62*number# when your phone is off or out of reception; and *21*number# for all calls. #67#, #61#, #62# and #21# cancel them (Pelephone documents these codes officially). Bezeq landlines use *72 for all calls, *73 when busy and *74 when there is no answer, cancelled with #72, #73 and #74; HOT landlines use *71 to *74 the same way. Israeli carriers forward only to Israeli numbers, so your AI receptionist needs an Israeli number.

Israeli mobile carriers

  • Pelephone (הפניית שיחות): the codes above, also through *300 and the "פלאפון שלי" app. Pelephone does not forward to a device abroad.
  • Cellcom ("עקוב אחריי"): forward all calls or only when busy, unanswered or out of coverage, set from the phone menu, with no monthly charge.
  • Partner, HOT Mobile, Golan Telecom, Rami Levy, 019, We4G and Xphone: the standard codes usually work, but confirm with your carrier, and some may set forwarding through customer service or your account.
  • On Android (Samsung): Phone > More options > Settings > Supplementary services > Call forwarding (יישום טלפון > הגדרות > שירותים נוספים > הפניית שיחות).
  • Voicemail (תא קולי) is itself a forward for unanswered calls: setting *61 or *67 replaces it. Call waiting (שיחה ממתינה) can stop busy forwarding.

Bezeq landlines (עקוב אחרי)

  • *72 + number forwards all calls to any phone in Israel, landline or mobile; wait for the recorded confirmation. While it is on, you hear a stutter tone when you lift the handset.
  • *73 + number forwards when the line is busy (after 30 seconds, during which you can still take the call); *74 + number forwards when nobody answers after five rings (20 seconds). The two can run together.
  • Cancel each with #72, #73 or #74, and check with *#72, *#73 or *#74. You can also set it in My Bezeq > Phone.
  • Bezeq forwards only to Israeli numbers, and not to numbers starting with 1 (except 1599). The caller pays a regular call.
  • *75 sends calls straight to voicemail: cancel it with #75 so it does not compete with the forwards.

HOT landlines

  • Lift the handset, dial the code, the number and #: *71 when the line is unavailable (for example a power or modem outage), *72 for all calls (your line does not ring), *73 when busy, *74 when there is no answer.
  • Cancel with #71, #72, #73 or #74 and wait for the confirmation tone. A short tone on each incoming call reminds you forwarding is on.
  • No answer forwards after four rings (about 20 seconds); voicemail subscribers can change it with *152, the number of rings (2 to 17) and #.

Forward to an Israeli number

Forward to a number in your own country. US carriers do not forward to international numbers, and in Israel Bezeq forwards only to Israeli numbers, so your UIRIX agent's number should be local. Numbers come from 27 countries. In the US, Canada, Israel and Puerto Rico a number is ready at once; in 23 more, such as the UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Brazil and Mexico, the telephony provider first reviews your details and documents, usually in 1 to 3 business days.

What happens when the call reaches your AI receptionist

  • Your agent answers in your business's name, day and night, in 17 languages: it answers from your website and documents, takes messages and leads, books appointments where you connect a calendar, and can put the caller through to a person you choose.
  • When your carrier marks the call as forwarded, the agent knows it came through your line: it never reads your business number back as the caller's own, and it asks for a callback number when it needs one.
  • Calls are recorded (on by default), transcribed and summarized in your dashboard, and you can get the summary by e-mail.
  • If the agent transfers callers to a person, use a number that does not forward back to the agent (a mobile or a direct line), so a call cannot loop between the two.

Forward your missed calls in Israel to an AI receptionist

  1. 1

Get an Israeli number for your agent

Create your UIRIX agent and give it an Israeli phone number in the dashboard: it is ready at once, and the agent speaks Hebrew.

  2. 2

    Turn on forwarding

    On a mobile dial *67*, *61* and *62* with the agent's number; on Bezeq dial *73 and *74; on HOT *73, *74 and *71.

  3. 3

    Call yourself while busy

From a second phone, call your business number while your phone is on another call (or you decline the call). Your agent should answer.

  4. 4

Call yourself and do not answer

Let it ring. After the delay you set, your agent should answer. If voicemail answers instead, voicemail is still catching the call first.
