Vapi alternative

A Vapi alternative for businesses, not just builders

Vapi gives developers building blocks to assemble voice agents from the models they choose. UIRIX AI gives you a finished agent: it reads your website, answers your phone and talks to visitors on your site.

Updated

Consider UIRIX AI instead of Vapi if nobody on your team wants to pick transcription, model and voice providers or write code. Vapi charges a $0.05 per-minute platform fee plus provider costs; UIRIX plans start at $49 a month with calls included, and the agent is built from your website URL.

When Vapi is the better choice

Vapi describes itself as voice agents for builders, and it is excellent at that. Developers can combine models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Groq and others with transcription and voice providers such as Deepgram and ElevenLabs, then control the agent through APIs, squads of specialized assistants and visual workflows. If you are building voice into your own product, that control is hard to beat.

Vapi also has broader compliance options than UIRIX: SOC 2, HIPAA and PCI are listed, with HIPAA offered as a paid add-on ($2,000 a month on its pricing page). UIRIX is a smaller, newer company and holds no such certifications.

  • You are a developer or agency embedding voice agents in your own application.
  • You want to swap language, speech and voice providers per agent and pay them at cost.
  • You need native integrations such as Salesforce or Slack, which UIRIX does not offer.

When UIRIX AI fits better

On Vapi, the per-minute platform fee is only part of the bill. Transcription, the language model and the voice are billed on top at provider rates, and higher tiers add monthly fees (Core $29, Pro from $999). That is fair for builders, but it means someone has to design, price and maintain the stack. UIRIX includes the voice engine, the model and the knowledge base in the plan: Starter is $49 a month for 1 agent with about 100 inbound and 100 outbound calls, and usage beyond that is paid from a prepaid wallet.

The UIRIX agent is also ready for business use from day one. It creates leads, support tickets and orders, books appointments in Google Calendar or Microsoft 365, transfers live calls to a person, and sends a summary e-mail after each call. No function code to write, no webhook server to host.

  • Website chat widget and voice-in-browser widget with live captions, on the same agent as your phone line.
  • Outbound campaigns with voicemail/IVR detection, do-not-call list, calling windows and retries.
  • Site search during a conversation, limited to your own website.

How to switch from Vapi

Export your Vapi assistant prompt and any files you attached, and upload them to UIRIX next to your website crawl. Map each Vapi tool you built to a built-in UIRIX action (lead, ticket, order, callback, appointment, transfer, e-mail, SMS or link); for anything custom, a Zapier webhook usually replaces your own server. Developers can keep automating through Public API v1 and signed webhooks.
